A Redlands Adventist Academy student is equipped to develop a faith-based relationship with God, demonstrates personal integrity and moral judgment, shows compassion and embraces diversity, and understands and respects Seventh-day Adventist beliefs.
Spiritual life is a cornerstone of our K-12 Seventh-day Adventist campus, nurturing the faith and character of our students. Through daily interactions in class, regular chapel services, and class vespers, students experience a consistent and meaningful spiritual journey. From the early years in kindergarten, children are given the opportunity to lead in chapels, fostering confidence and a sense of community. Our Bible classes further enrich this experience, offering in-depth study and discussion that help students understand and live their faith.
While our campus is rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist tradition, we warmly welcome students and families from all denominations and belief systems. Our inclusive approach ensures that everyone feels respected and valued, regardless of their background. This diversity enriches our community and enhances the spiritual growth of all students as they learn to appreciate and understand different perspectives within a shared commitment to faith and values.
Spiritual Life at Each Level
Nurturing a strong foundation in spiritual life is a core value at our school. Worship is woven throughout the school day, from classroom discussions to dedicated chapels. Age-appropriate experiences are offered, from playful explorations in elementary school to thoughtful, student-led initiatives in high school. This variety of spiritual activities allows each child to connect with something meaningful on their own unique journey.
Elementary
Elementary students at our school take an active role in their spiritual development through various engaging activities. They have opportunities to lead chapel services, participate in community service projects, and sing worship songs together. Daily worship and Bible classes provide a foundation in biblical teachings, while weekly chapel sessions feature age-appropriate speakers who inspire students and foster positive character traits. These experiences not only deepen their understanding of faith but also encourage them to be positive influences in their community and the world.
Middle School
Middle school students at our school are given more opportunities to take charge of their spiritual growth and engage with their faith on a deeper level. They play a significant role in leading chapel services, organizing community service projects, and participating in worship through music. With increased control over their learning, students can explore topics that interest them in Bible classes and engage in meaningful discussions. Weekly chapel sessions feature speakers who connect with their age group, helping them understand biblical principles and develop traits that enable them to positively impact their community and the world. These experiences empower junior high students to take ownership of their spiritual journey and make a difference.
High School
High school students at our school are able to deeply engage with their faith through student-led campus ministries. Working closely with a campus chaplain, these ministries help students grow spiritually and develop into compassionate, thoughtful individuals. The focus is on creating an inclusive, discussion-oriented environment where students can explore and understand the concepts behind their beliefs, rather than just memorizing facts. Weekly chapel services, Bible classes, and various service projects are designed to foster meaningful connections with their faith and community. This approach ensures that students not only learn about their beliefs but also understand how to live them out in their daily lives, preparing them to be positive influences in the world.
Bible Curriculum
We utilize Encounter Curriculum in grades K-12. This curriculum utilizes the Bible as the student’s textbook and encourages an understanding of the story as well as helping students explore the Bible themselves. It’s hands on and allows a variety of activities to help students connect with the content on a personal level.
Community Service
Community service is a key aspect of our commitment to fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to both our local and global communities. Students are encouraged to participate in various service projects, helping them to develop empathy and a spirit of giving. For high school students, completing community service hours is a graduation requirement, ensuring that they actively contribute to making a positive impact. These experiences not only fulfill academic requirements but also instill lifelong values of service and community engagement, preparing our students to be compassionate, proactive members of society.
Constituent Churches
We are excited to have strong connections with our constituent churches, which play an important role in supporting our community. These churches offer many additional opportunities for students to engage in activities beyond what they can experience on campus. Whether it's participating in youth groups, attending Sabbath school classes, or joining in community service projects, our students can expand their spiritual and social experiences. This partnership enhances our students' growth and strengthens our community ties.
