Once a year the 9th-grade class participates in a Biology Trip to Monterey Bay where they enjoy:
- Elephant Seal Rookery
- Aquarium
- Kayaking in Elkhorn Slough
- Whale watching in the bay
- The Forest of Nisene Marks
- Natural Bridges State Beach
This five-day overnight field trip allows students to experience ecology together in the field, and a chance to see the diversity of ecosystems in and around Monterey Bay. It also introduces career possibilities and academic studies that are possible after high school. Finally, it establishes a foundation for class bonding that will grow and continue for the next 4 years.
On this field trip, we have 6 parent volunteers as chaperones, sign-ups are available on back to school night.
