One of our top priorities is student safety, so we have a comprehensive volunteer clearance policy to ensure our students' safety. This policy is developed by the Southeastern California Conference (SECC) Office of Education and is based on California state law and the Pacific Union Education Code by which we abide.
Please see the requirements below for each adult over the age of 18 who desires to volunteer at RAA as:
- A General Volunteer
- An Overnight Trip Chaperone and/or Frequent Classroom Volunteer
- A Coach

ALL Volunteers
All volunteers must complete the following items:
- Family Information form for non-Coach volunteers (every year)
- Contact Information form for Coach volunteers ONLY (every year)
- Volunteer Commitment form (every year)
- Vehicle & Insurance Information form (every year)
- Provide a copy of Proof of Auto Insurance ( provide updated copy prior to expiration date)
- Provide a copy of Driver's License (provide updated copy prior to expiration date)
- Complete the Sterling Volunteers online training module and background check (every two years)
Overnight Trip Chaperones & Frequent Classroom Volunteers
Volunteers that plan to spend more time with our students must complete ALL of the items from the list above plus these additional items:
- Live Scan (fingerprinting) background check (one time only)
- Complete the 2-hour online Mandated Reporter Training and submit the Certificate of Completion (every two years)
- Complete the Tuberculosis Assessment which must be signed by a medical professional (every four years)
