Updates from Principal Arnold

August 23, 2024
By Bill Arnold

Dear parents,

Well, we all survived the first week!  Thanks for all of your support and involvement, making this first week special.  I want to give you just a few quick updates as we get ready for next week.

Drop-off and pick-up are getting better every day, and there are a couple of things that will make it even smoother.  First, always pull as far forward as you can.  This will allow other cars to get in the queue behind you.  Please avoid stopping at the entrance.  You should have received a placard with your child’s name and grade on it.  Please display it on your car dash as you come in for pick-up.  If you do not have one, please see the teacher of your youngest child.

Lockers are finally available, while most of our 7th and 8th grade students are getting theirs this week.  High school lockers will be given out next week.  Sixth grade lockers are being relocated so that they will have easy access and should be ready by the middle of next week as well.

Dress code is going great. I want to congratulate the students and parents for making efforts to be sure they have the clothes that are accepted in the dress code. When out, please refer back to the written dress code as well, as the pictures that were given.  Remember that on Fridays students may wear jeans with RAA or Bulldog t-shirts/sweatshirts, or dress code shirts, but not any other t-shirts.  We will send you some information very soon on the RAA merchandise website so that you can order RAA swag, should you be interested.   Remember you can get the official RAA logo imprinted or embroidered on school shirts should you choose to, however, it is not required.  Our exclusive vendor will be here at Back to School Night on Thursday evening (Aug. 29), should you have any questions or want to drop off clothes to have the RAA logo added.

A reminder that this Sunday (Aug. 25) from 9:00-11:00 there will be a Campus Master Planning workshop in the gym. We hope to start outlining what we would want our physical campus to look like in the future. Your input is very valuable.

We have had a little snafu with 7th/8th grade band.  It will not meet next week, but we believe we will have things in place to begin after that.  Stay tuned, and an update will be coming out soon.

And on a final note, the high school students cut the ribbon on the new high school restrooms this morning. They will be open starting Monday morning.

Enjoy your weekend.
