Under Construction

Mrs. Dudley
2010-2011

You have arrived at Mrs. Dudley's web-page! This is going to be an exciting year socially, emotionally and mentally. It is going to be a thought provoking and fun year that will push you academically and allow you to meet and exceed all of your previous expectations. The following information will help you to get the most out of my classes:

RULES, PROCEDURES, AND EXPECTATIONS
  • I expect every student to thoroughly familiarize him/herself with the school rules as outlined in the RAA Handbook.
  • Be on time and prepared for class everyday.
  • Respect yourself, your peers, and your teacher. Kindness, cooperation, and a positive attitude are essential in the classroom.
  • Always try your best. I do not expect you to be perfect (although many of you are perfect 8-D), but when you are in class or doing classwork I expect you to work to your fullest potential.
MATERIALS
  • Composition Notebook: for daily journal, class notes, quickwrites and selected handouts (will stay in class).
  • Pens (blue, black, and red), pencils, highlighter, lined paper, color markers and pencils, glue stick, ruler (6 inch) and scissors.
  • Text books and novels to be provided by Mrs. Dudley

HOMEWORK
Your homework will usually be long term projects, reading and/or studying for quizzes and tests. Expect homework to be posted on the whiteboard under your course title. You are responsible for writing homework assignments down and making sure you are clear with the directions and what is expected of you. Most of your assignments will also be posted on this web-page, however, the most up-to-date information will be on the whiteboard in class.

Turning in your homework:
Everyday when you walk into class, you will put your homework in the "homework basket" by my desk. I will pick up the work in this basket immediately following the start of class and only give credit to those who had their homework turned in on time. NO LATE WORK!!! If you have printer problems email the assignment by the due date.

WHAT if I'm Absent?

You are expected to get the assignment and turn it in without being personally reminded by the teacher.  When you are absent you can contact me at cdudley@redlandsacademy.org and/or contact another student to find out what you missed. I'm available for at least 30 minutes before or after school in my classroom. Remember assignments are posted on the whiteboard under your course title. Class time is NOT the time to ask me about make-up work.

A two-day grace period is allowed for each day absent. Test and/or quizzes that are missed can be rescheduled within the time limit (to be taken before or after school). Failing to submit an assignment or reschedule a missed test/quiz will result in zero points.
